‘Metipso World: Connect!’ is a multi-site, immersive and experiential media-arts installation with live broadcasts in development by the Metipso Portal Collective, and confirmed for exhibition at Onsite Gallery, curated by Lisa Deanne Smith. We are exploring how collaborative artmaking, technical exchange, and real-time media experiments bring diverse people together to strengthen social cohesion and address pressing societal issues including cultural polarization and the protection of our natural environments. Dynamic new artworks will be created and will advance and expand the collectives practice as they utilize new techniques and learn to create artwork specifically for an online audience as well as in physical spaces. The curator is pushing her practice to explore the act of collaboration and exchange as one of the main materials of an artwork. We are also creating a publication, and a YouTube archive of documentary videos that will be accessible beyond the run of the exhibition.
